PreMedBullying aims to create a safe, inclusive and positive primary school environment where bullying and cyberbullying have no place, by empowering the entire school community through life skills development and culturally relevant strategies.
General Objectives
- Create a coherent, positive and safe school climate and culture that prevents and addresses school bullying and cyberbullying by taking into account the voices of teachers and parents.
- Develop the identity of a future citizen committed to the European common values of inclusion, democracy and tolerance.
- Develop pupils’ life skills and competences to prevent bullying and cyberbullying in their own environment, or cope effectively when encountering them.
- Enhance teachers’ and allied professionals’ continuing professional development.
- Assist parents to develop their own active role as European citizens who serve democracy, inclusion and tolerance.
Specific Objectives
- Develop a culturally relevant and school-specific policy and strategy against bullying and cyberbullying through the active participation of teachers, allied professionals, parents and pupils in a bottom-up approach.
- Develop open-access and innovative teaching materials and resources useful in preventing and coping with bullying and cyberbullying incidents.
- Educate teachers, parents and pupils on life skills and competences for preventing and coping with bullying and cyberbullying.
- Share and promote effective and innovative best practices across Mediterranean partner countries.
- Provide self-help and mutual help support by establishing online sharing communities coordinated by selected ambassadors.
WP2 – Action Research & Anti-Bullying School Policy
- Engage teachers and parents in co-developing a new Framework for Anti-Bullying, CyberBullying and LifeSkills Development School Policy and Strategy through Participative Action Research.
- Develop a self-assessment tool through which parents and teachers can explore their own attitudes towards bullying and life skills development, enhancing their understanding and commitment to co-creating the new Framework.
- Provide systematic exposure of pupils to life skills development through a pilot training programme.
- Implement and evaluate the new Framework for Anti-Bullying, CyberBullying and Life Skills Development in school settings.
- Develop an online comprehensive guide for parents to diagnose early signs of bullying and cyberbullying and enhance their children’s life skills.
WP3 – Training Programme Development & Delivery
- Develop a Certified Comprehensive Online Training Programme for teachers and allied professionals on Anti-Bullying, CyberBullying and LifeSkills Development, containing both theoretical and practical content.
- Develop a multi-sensor online platform for training programme delivery.
- Deliver the teachers’ and allied professionals’ training programme online in five languages.
- Increase knowledge and enhance positive attitudes of teachers, allied professionals, parents and primary school pupils towards life skills development as a strategy against bullying and cyberbullying.
WP4 – Self-Help and Mutual Help Online Communities
- Develop a Multi-Sensor Platform for Online Self-Help and Mutual Help Sharing Communities.
- Establish Online Self-Help and Mutual Help Sharing Communities in five languages, providing a forum for teachers and parents to share stories and develop successful coping strategies.
- Develop an Online Parent’s Guide to help parents diagnose early signs of bullying and cyberbullying, set limits and boundaries, and support their children in developing positive coping skills.
WP5 – Dissemination
- Develop and implement a coherent dissemination plan to raise awareness about project outcomes at national and European level.
- Build a network to facilitate knowledge sharing, collaboration and the exchange of best practices in school education.
- Establish opportunities for cooperation in the field of school education promoting the widespread adoption of transversal skills integration.
- Produce and disseminate a Policy Recommendation Paper for Mediterranean countries.
- Develop and distribute a comprehensive Toolkit in five languages presenting the full programme methodology.
- Organise face-to-face and online multiplier events, including a Final Conference, to share project results with stakeholders, policy makers and the wider public.
